Born in Inner Mongolia, China, Frank Fu is a contemporary artist whose works challenge the white box setting of galleries, museums and cinema. His endurance performances and films examine his identity as an artist, often commenting on the politics of the art world. He has conducted performances at the Venice Biennale, Documenta, Sydney Biennale, Asian Contemporary Art Fair (New York), Asian Contemporary Art Week (New York), Rubin Museum of Art (New York), Luxehills Museum of Art (China), along with the Centre Pompidou and Louvre Museum (Paris). His films have premiered at the prestigious Locarno Film Festival and Visions Du Réel (Switzerland), along with Transcinema (Peru). Most recently, Frank Fu the “grandson of performance art” has been selected to perform for Marina Abramović the “grandmother of performance art” for her lifetime retrospective exhibition in Zürich. Frank Fu has been featured on national television networks and mainstream media like NETFLIX, NHK (Japan), CCTV4 (China), New Zealand Herald, New Zealand Listener, Perú 21, La República (Peru) and The National Business Review. He has also been featured in major contemporary art publications such as ARTCO (Taiwan), The White Hot Magazine, Bloomberg’s Tateshots (UK) and Frieze Magazine. Frank Fu is the Head of School at F.U. INSTITUTE and the founder of Performance Art Los Angeles.
